Actor David Hasselhoff believes the entertainment industry is responsible for world peace - and he cites his old shows Knight Rider and Baywatch as perfect examples of harmony-inducing TV shows.

The actor, who enjoyed success in the 1980s and 1990s with the programmes, claims both series gave great lessons on how humans should treat each other.

He says, "I'm proud of shows like Baywatch and Knight Rider because it's about saving lives, not taking lives.

"I think (the entertainment industry) is responsible for a lot of world peace."
