David Hasselhoff was the victim of this year's Comedy Central roast that aired on Sunday night. The 58-year old Baywatch actor, who has recently been battling a drinking problem, as well as various family issues, was subjected to a barrage of jokes about his life and antics, including the now infamous 'cheeseburger' video, in which he appears in a drunken state, eating fast-food off his hotel room floor.
The opening gambit came from comedian Seth Macfarlane, the host of the roast, and star of hit US comedy Family Guy, who asked, "How do you make jokes about a joke? How do you embarrass a man who so thoroughly embarrasses himself?", and he went on with the grilling, exclaiming, "How do you put someone down when they are already lying shirtless on the floor?"
However, despite the joke being well and truly on 'The Hoff', he was happy to laugh at himself, after the show he told a Popeater.com reporter, "I've been waiting for a forum to talk about where I'm at. I didn't do it in the beginning because I was in a very personal matter and it involved the custody of my children." Hasselhoff failed to get his contract with NBC renewed in January, which meant he was replaced as a judge on America's Got Talent with comedian Howie Mandel.
