The Coldplay frontman has reportedly teamed up with Ricky Gervais - who played the hapless David Brent in the award-winning sitcom - to record music for the soundtrack of the eagerly-awaited new film, titled 'Life On The Road'.
An insider told The Sun newspaper: ''Chris has known Ricky for years. They're good friends and he is always up for getting involved in his projects.

Award-winning comedian Ricky Gervais will reportedly make 'The Office' film without the help of his long-time collaborator Stephen Merchant.
The duo worked together on the original TV series, but will not be reuniting for the much-anticipated movie - titled 'Life On The Road' - which is scheduled for release next year.
A source told The Sun newspaper: ''Ricky has every right to do a David Brent movie on his own but fans will understandably be gutted to have it confirmed that Stephen is not involved at all.

The comedian has given fans of the TV character a preview of what they can expect from the much-hyped film, revealing that it'll take the shape of another fake documentary ''about what he's doing now, and what he's doing now is sort of repping''.
Gervais, 53, explained: ''But he hasn't let go of this dream of being a rock star and he's got a lot of songs together and he's got a young band together that he's paying through the nose for and they're just sort of ripping him off. They're sort of session musicians so he's losing money.

Ricky Gervais is using his own failed music career to inspire his latest film 'Life on the Road'.
The much-anticipated flick will follow the musical exploits of David Brent - the focal point of Gervais' most famous comedy creation 'The Office', which was set in a paper merchants in Slough - and the 53-year-old comedian said his personal experiences of making music is helping to inspire the script.
He told ITV's 'This Morning': ''I brought him back briefly for Comic Relief, because people were asking, 'What is he doing now?'
