Scottish star Lulu is set to mark her own tribute to David Bowie with a rendition of 'The Man Who Sold The World' during her UK Spring 2016 tour. The 'Shout' hitmaker became hugely popular for her cover version of the track back in 1974, so it's only appropriate that she revisit it more than 40 years later.

Bowie originally produced the cover track, which he released himself as a single in 1970, alongside his faithful production partner Mick Ronson and subsequently took Lulu back towards the top of the charts at number three for the first time since 1969's 'Boom Bang-a-Bang'.

I can't not sing 'The Man Who Sold The World'. I can't not do that song', she told the Press Association. 'That was a very big important point in my career and I had a personal relationship, albeit for a moment.'

She elaborated that she felt extremely moved by his death, especially feeling sorry for the family that he left behind after he ended his struggle with liver cancer earlier this year. 'Like everyone of his generation, I feel sad for him, but I feel really sad, because I'm a woman, for his wife and for his family', she explains. 'From what I can tell, I think they're coping with it beautifully and I think he came to terms with his death quite admirably.'

More: Unreleased David Bowie material to be unveiled?

Lulu was pretty busy last year with the release of her latest album 'Making Life Rhyme', and this year she has been working alongside The Military Wives Choir on their latest charity single 'Cry'. The song is set to hit shelves on February 26th 2016 with proceeds going to the Military Wives Choir Foundation.

Between March 2nd and April 20th, Lulu will be touring across the UK reaching venues in the likes of Aberdeen, Manchester, Hampshire, Middlesbrough and Torquay.
