Illusionist David Blaine is planning to electrify himself as part of a daring new stunt.

The magician, who has wowed fans around the world with his televised feats of endurance, will hook himself up to a one million-volt charge and stay plugged in for 72 hours.

The stunt, titled Electrified: One Million Volts Always On, will take place in New York City next month (Oct12) and fans across the world will be able to watch live on the Internet as Blaine takes on his "most dangerous" ever challenge.

Blaine will wear a futuristic-looking bodysuit, hooked up to two conductors, for three days and three nights beginning on 5 October (12).

His previous feats have included encasing himself in ice for 63 hours, hanging upside down above New York's Central Park, and being buried alive in a see-through coffin.
