Brooklyn Beckham has been signed to a professional soccer club.

The 14-year-old schoolboy looks set to follow in his father David Beckham's sporting footsteps after joining Queens Park Rangers' Under 14 academy side, according to the MailOnline.

The news comes after David announced his retirement from professional soccer last week (16.05.13), playing what is believed to be his final match for French team Paris Saint-Germain at the Parc des Princes in Paris on Saturday (18.05.13).

Soccer-mad Brooklyn was a regular on the pitch with his dad during training and put his skills to the test with a trial for Chelsea juniors in January. He was also part of the junior roster at David's former club Los Angeles Galaxy while the family were in California.

Brooklyn was in the stands to cheer on his soccer superstar dad in his final outing for PSG over the weekend alongside his siblings Romeo, 10, Cruz, eight, and 21-month-old Harper, and their mother Victoria Beckham.

The family couldn't hide their emotion as David left the pitch in floods of tears when he was substituted in the 81st minute.

David has admitted in the past he is very hard on his sons when it comes to soccer and constantly pushes them to improve their skills and play.

He explained: ''I'm as hard on my boys as my dad was. They always ask, 'Did I play well?' I'll say, 'You did alright, could have done better.' ''
