David Beckham vowed to launch legal action against a U.S. magazine on Wednesday (22Sep10) after denying a report alleging he cheated on his wife VICTORIA with a $10,000 (£6,333)-a-night hooker.
Editors at InTouch Weekly ran a front-page story this week (begs20Sep10) carrying allegations from a former prostitute named Irma Nici, who claimed the soccer star hired her services in 2007, shortly after he moved to America.
She claims they met on two separate occasions - once in New York and once in London - but Beckham's rep has moved swiftly to issue a denial and confirm the star plans to take legal action over the story.
Within minutes of the publication hitting the streets, the star's rep tells UsMagazine, "(These allegations) are completely untrue and totally ridiculous, as the magazine was clearly told before publication. Sadly we live in a world where a magazine can print lies and believe they can get away with it. We are taking legal action against the magazine."
