Soccer superstar David Beckham has agreed a "dream deal" that will see him divide his time between Italian club AC Milan and Major League Soccer outfit Los Angeles Galaxy.
The sporting icon has signed a unique "timeshare" agreement to remain with the Italian giants until 30 June (09) before returning to LA Galaxy for the second half of the MLS season.
The star will then had back to Italy in November (09) to play out the rest of the 2009/10 season with Milan.
Beckham was so desperate to extend his stay in Europe he will reportedly contribute $3 million (£2 million) of his personal finances to help to fund the arrangement.
He says, "I'm really grateful to the LA Galaxy and AC Milan for making this dream deal happen. It allows me to play for AC Milan and the LA Galaxy in the same year, and also to continue my commitment to develop soccer in the United States, which is something I am passionate about."
