Actor David Arquette insists his bid to keep his clothing line all-American is no gimmick - he wants to help out struggling U.S. firms.
The Scream star created Propr with singer/songwriter pal Ben Harper in 2008 and the partners have always refused to cut costs by going overseas. Instead, all the companies they use to manufacture garments are based in the U.S.
Arquette explains, "When the economy tanked, I wanted to support American workers. Our woven shirts are done by Gambert Shirts, a family-owned company in New Jersey, and the T-shirts are made in Los Angeles."
He tells Nylon Guys magazine, "By making everything domestically, Propr is helping people feed their families. It's not a marketing ploy."
