Country Veteran David Allan Coe Is Facing Three Years Behind Bars After Pleading Guilty To Income Tax Evasion.
The Take This Job and Shove It singer/songwriter was charged with obstructing the due administration of the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) from as far back as 1993, owing the U.S. government more than $466,000 (£291,250).
The sum also includes funds owed from between 2008 and 2013, when he either failed to file his tax returns or simply did not pay what was owed, reports the Cincinnati Enquirer.
Instead, Coe, who is paid in cash for each concert, is alleged to have used the money to pay off his gambling debts and other fees.

Veteran country star David Allan Coe was left with broken ribs and a head injury following his car crash in Florida last week (ends22Mar13).
The 73-year-old singer's car collided with a truck as he drove through an intersection on 19 March (13), and he was taken to hospital in Ocala for treatment.
Coe's manager Bruce Smith revealed the star was "doing Ok" but the extent of the hitmaker's injuries have now been revealed.

Country star David Allan Coe is facing a massive tax bill in the U.S. over allegations he owes more than $1.6 million (£1 million).
Internal Revenue Service (Irs) bosses filed a tax lien against the singer with the Collin County Clerk in Texas in January (11).
The papers, obtained by The Detroit News, suggest the singer owes $1,640,853 (£1,093,902) in unpaid taxes from 2004, 2007 and 2009.
Coe has previously suffered financial troubles - he filed for Chapter 13 bankruptcy in 2005.

The 71 year old wed his longtime girlfriend, singer Kimberly Hastings, 48, in Las Vegas on Saturday (17Apr10).
The couple exchanged vows at the Little White Chapel with Coe's pal Toby Keith as an official witness.
Nelson, who held the festival outside of Austin last year (03), has opted to hold this year's (04) daylong event at the Fort Worth Stockyards, a 27 acre (10.9 hectare) concert field dubbed the North Forty.
Nelson says, "Fort Worth is one of my old hometowns. I've played all of the beer joints here."
