Clever video director Dave Meyers persuaded lovers Janet Jackson and Jermaine Dupri to team up in the singer's new video I WANT YOU - by telling Jackson she looked wonderful when the rap mogul was around.
The acclaimed director had already spent a day shooting Jackson's comeback video when he watched her light up when her boyfriend visited the set.
Meyers says, "I said, 'It would be great if we could shoot a whole video with you looking the way you do right now.'
"It took her a minute, she thought about it, she asked JD if he'd be OK with doing the video. I was begging, 'If I can get the two of you together in a simple video it would be gold.'"
Jackson and Dupri agreed and the WHAT HAVE YOU DONE FOR ME LATELY singer is thrilled with the romantic feel of her new video.
She says, "Life is really different now. Life is really good and this shows it."17/03/2004 09:00
