Katy Perry thinks everyone can be a firework.

The pop star has released an empowering video to accompany her new single 'Firework', featuring real people standing up to their detractors and she said the song is about people "being the best version" of themselves.

Katy said: "I think that's why I wrote it, is because I really believe in people and I believe that people have a spark to be a firework. It's just up to them, and a lot of times it's only us that's standing in the way of reaching our goals, fulfilling our destinies, being the best version of who we possibly can be, so that's why I wrote it."

NORTH COUNTRY star Sean Bean is to recreate one of cinema's creepiest roles after reportedly signing on to play hitchhiker JOHN RYDER in a remake of thriller THE HITCHER. Bean will take over the villainous role played by Rutger Hauer in the 1986 cult classic. THE PRINCE + ME star Zachary Knighton and One Tree Hill favourite Sophia Bush are in negotiations to play the US travellers trying to escape from Bean's Ryder. C Thomas Howell and Jennifer Jason Leigh were the original tormented teens. Video director Dave Meyers will take charge of the project, according to moviehole.net.

Pop punk Pink has lashed out at Paris Hilton, challenging the socialite's spelling ability.

Hilton has been quoted in the US press saying Pink - who hasn't had a record out since November 2003 - is just using her and other celebrities to make a musical comeback, after lampooning the hotel heiress and other celebrities in her new video, STUPID GIRLS.

Pink has furiously challenged Hilton in return saying, "Spell it. Spell comeback!"

Rockers Korn have a new hip-hop look - LIL' JON, Xzibit, Snoop Dogg and David Banner will play Jonathan Davis and his bandmates in the group's bizarre new video.

Davis called on his rap pals to double up as the rockers in promo TWISTED TRANSISTOR.

The rock frontman tells website Billboard.com the idea came to him while he was cruising around on a yacht in Monte Carlo.

Britney Spears has been handed a starring role in Halle Berry's new movie CATWOMAN - her new single has been picked for the film's soundtrack.

Spears will take a break from her ONYX HOTEL world tour later this month (JUN04) to film the video for the single, OUTRAGEOUS, which producers plan to relate to the Catwoman film.

Video director Dave Meyers will take charge of the sexy new promo, which is slated to debut on MTV at the end of the month (JUN04).

The acclaimed director had already spent a day shooting Jackson's comeback video when he watched her light up when her boyfriend visited the set.

Meyers says, "I said, 'It would be great if we could shoot a whole video with you looking the way you do right now.'
