Movie beauty Daryl Hannah has turned her back on her acting career to focus on saving the planet - despite her remarkable comeback in the hit Kill Bill movies.

The 44-year-old actress garnered critical acclaim for her part as villainous ELLE DRIVER in director Quentin Tarantino's martial arts epics, helping her win a succession of high-profile film roles.

But Hannah is unimpressed by her dramatic career revival, and insists her latest film, LIVING NEON DREAMS, will be her last until she's satisfied her need to protect the environment.

She explains, "Time has taught me to worry less about myself and be more compassionate about other's anxieties. I am more focused on trying to save the planet and other living creatures than on my career at the moment.

"I won't be doing anything for a while because I'm focused on environmental issues. I live in a solar-powered house built with eco-friendly materials and things salvaged from a 19th century barn.

"I also drive a 100 per cent bio-diesel car. I try to follow this ideal through all aspects of my life."
