Run-dmc star Darryl Mcdaniels has teamed up with bosses at a New York City gym in a bid to help local schoolkids keep their weight in check.
The hip-hop star visited Blink Fitness in Manhattan's SoHo village on Thursday (15Dec11) and led a work-out programme for kids in a bid to show them what they could do to stay fit outside the gym.
The Walk This Way hitmaker hopes to encourage kids to put down video games and get active.
He tells the New York Daily News, "There are other things in life besides video games. The calories add up because you are not moving around. Go to the park. Use the monkey bars. Run around. Use the playground to get a work-out."
In return for his efforts bosses at the gym are hoping to raise cash to send local kids to Camp Felix, the musician's camp for foster children.
