Darren Criss, the 24-year-old American actor best known for playing 'Blaine Anderson' in Glee, was dragged off stage by an excitable fan at a show on Thursday (16th June 2011). Darren Criss was performing on the 'Glee Live!' tour in Washington DC when the accident occurred.
Criss was giving his final bows when he reached out to grab the outstretched hand of an audience member and was pulled into the pit between the stage and crowd. Several fan videos of the incident show the actor disappearing from view, while his shocked cast-mates look on. Despite the hard fall, Criss managed to escape injury and later tweeted, "To the lady who pulled me off the stage and into the pit tonight: if I ever see you on a stage... keep your wits about ya. Love, Darren :)". Despite remaining good humoured about the accident, Criss later posted about the potential seriousness of the fall, saying, "btw I'm lucky I didn't hit my head on the gate in front of this lady. Seriously close call tonight... Like, please don't kill me. I'm nice".
Darren Criss will join Dianna Agron, Chris Colfer, Lea Michele and co for a number of 'Glee Live' shows in the UK next week. The cast will play venues in Manchester and Dublin, as well as London's O2 Arena
