Darren Aronofsky is to direct a movie about George Washington.
The 'Wrestler' filmmaker will focus on an as-yet undisclosed portion of the former US President's life in 'The General', though the movie is not expected to go into production for some time as the helmsman is currently focused on Biblical tale 'Noah'.
Studio Paramount Pictures are currently in negotiations to acquire their movie as part of their first-look deal with Protozoa Pictures, with the film set to be offered to others if a deal is not reached within the next few days.
As well as working on 'Noah' - which will star Russell Crowe in the lead role as a man struggling with people's inhumanity towards animals, his own alcoholism and impending floods sent from God - Darren is also considering 'Get Happy', a Judy Garland biopic which has Anne Hathaway attached.
If he takes on the film, it is unclear whether 'The General' or 'Get Happy' will be the project he tackles immediately after 'Noah'.
