Late rocker 'DIMEBAG' Darrell Abbott is to be honoured at Britain's Download festival in June (07) - a stage will be named after him.
Organisers of the Donington Park three-day event have opted to name their second stage after the former Pantera guitarist, who was shot and killed during a show in Columbus, Ohio in December 2004.
A spokesman for the festival says, "We are proud to announce the second stage at this year's festival will be called The Dimebag Darrell Stage.
"Festival organisers felt that this was a fitting tribute to a legendary man that has influenced and inspired many great bands."
Abbott's brother and former Pantera and Damageplan bandmate Vinnie Paul adds, "I am proud to announce we have the privilege of honouring my brother by naming the second stage after him... This is a huge honour."
