Actor Danny Glover has joined in a state-to-state U.S. tour to drum up support for America's flailing manufacturing industry.
The Lethal Weapon star stood side-by-side with union bosses as well as political and civil-rights leaders on Monday (11May09) to take part in the first stop of a four-day trek in a bid to support industry workers.
He told union employees at a rally in Detroit, Michigan that the "deindustrialisation of the nation" had begun in the state, but that the workers could be "the architects of their own rescue".
Michigan, the hub of the U.S. auto industry, has seen many factory and car industry plants close due to the current global economic downturn.
