Dannii Minogue broke down on the Australian 'X Factor' following the death of her grandmother who tragically lost her battle with cancer.
Dannii Minogue had an emotional breakdown on the Australian 'X Factor' following the death of her grandmother.
The 41-year-old star who is a judge on the talent contest couldn't hold back the tears after her contestant Dami Im performed a rendition of Simon & Garfunkel's iconic hit 'Bridge Over Troubled Water' on Sunday night (29.09.13), following the death of Dannii's grandmother who lost her battle with cancer a fortnight ago.
After fellow judge LMFAO's frontman Redfoo's harsh critique of the performance - part of the Family Week theme - a teary-eyed Dannii dedicated the song to her dad Ronald, mother Carol Ann and her beloved grandfather.
She said: ''I had the roughest week ever. That was for my parents and my grandfather, that song tonight. I've had the toughest time.''
The other judges rallied around her in a bid to comfort the distressed star with 'Neighbours' actress Natalie Bassingthwaighte putting her arm around her, while Ronan Keating stood up and gave her a hug.
She continued: ''You have been my absolute angel and for anyone else out there who ever had a tough time that is the song, you need to connect the energy of the song.''
Dannii - the younger sister of Kylie Minogue, 45, who beat breast cancer - later posted a picture taken with Dami on her Tumblr page with the pair of them standing and smiling.
Attached to the image was a short post, she wrote: ''Dami's song this week, Bridge Over Troubled Water, was for anyone going through a tough time or anyone who needs to feel a little hope.''
Corgan took to Instagram to confirm rumours of new Pumpkins material, saying the first songs could arrive as early as May.
