Childhood: Dannii Minogue was born in Melbourne, Australia, to Ron Minogue and Carol Jones. As well as her sister Kylie, she also has a brother, Brendan, a news cameraman.

As a child, Dannii Minogue began to appear in Australian TV shows such as Skyways and The Sullivans. She went on to appear on Young Talent Time, recording cover versions of Madonna songs such as 'Material Girl'. When she left the Young Talent Time stable, she returned to acting, with a role in Home and Away, where she earned herself a Silver Logie award for Most Popular Actress on Australian television.

Music Career: In 1989, Dannii Minogue signed a record deal with Mushroom Records. Her debut album was entitled Dannii and reached number 24 on the Australian charts. Outside of Australia, the album was named Love and Kisses.

Dannii Minogue's second album was entitled Get Into You and was released in 1993. The album spawned the singles 'Show You The Way To Go' and 'This Is It'. The album failed to make the top 50 in the UK and Minogue returned to television work, presenting The Big Breakfast.

Two years later, Minogue reprised her pop career, with the singles 'Rescue Me' and 'Boogie Woogie', which was a collaborative effort with Eurogroove. Both tracks reached number one in Japan.

Steve 'Silk' Hurley's dance remixes of Minogue's tracks led to her becoming interesting in dance music and club culture. His in turn influenced the style of her next album, Girl, which was released in 1997. The album featured collaborations with the likes of Brian Higgins of Xenomania.

The Riva / Dannii Minogue single 'Who Do You Love Now?' was released in 2001 and reached number three in the UK singles charts. This was followed with the release of the album Neon Nights - one of the best -received releases of her career.

In the first series, two of her chosen contestants, Rhydian Roberts and Leon Jackson. In the eighth series of the show, she was given the Over-25 category. None of her chosen contestants - Rachel Hylton, Daniel Evans and Ruth Lorenzo - made it to the semi-final. Minogue's suitability for being a judge on the show was contested by a number of celebrities, including Noel Gallagher, Graham Norton and Ronan Keating. She returned to the show in 2009.

It has been reported that Dannii Minogue has auditioned for roles in Ugly Betty and Desperate Housewives.

David Walliams Dannii Minogue

David Walliams and Dannii Minogue were involved in a rather bemusing on-air exchange on BBC Radio 2 this morning, as Walliams said the former ‘X Factor’ judge once booty-called him for late-night sex.

The remark came after Dannii told the show’s host, Chris Evans, that her fellow guest Walliams alarmed her on occasion, in what was an awkward encounter on Friday morning (February 24th).

Asked whether she found the ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ judge “scary”, Dannii replied: “I do, I always have done. You know that. Do you see how he’s looking at me?” Walliams replied: “But you gave me a booty call once.”

Dannii Minogue Swaps Music For Modelling As Judge On Next Top Model

Dannii Minogue Elle Macpherson Tyson Beckford Simon Cowell

Dannii Minogue has decided on a more appropriate career venture as a judge on the next series of 'Britain & Ireland's Next Top Model' and has declined a return to 'The X Factor'.

The former singer judged on the singing talent show between 2007 and 2010 but, according to a friend of hers in The Mirror, 'She doesn't want the hassle and the rows that come with doing 'The X Factor'.' Music mogul Simon Cowell asked her last year if she would make a return, attempting to group together some of the former judges of the show possibly in a bid to up the program's quickly falling ratings. However, Dannii, who has her own fashion label Project D, is more interested in the world of fashion these days and has instead signed a deal with Sky Living show 'Britain & Ireland's Next Top Model'. 'I am brushing up on my model moves and with my highest platform heels on, I am excited to come face to face with (well maybe look up to) the glamazons of BINTM 2013', she told The Mirror. 'Next Top Model has always been a part of my essential TV viewing and I am so excited to be back in the UK for Britain & Ireland's Next Top Model's ninth series.' She admits that she loves mentoring but is particularly excited to join the modelling competition's judging panel because she is a huge fan of executive producer and co-judge Elle Macpherson. 'I remember Elle's first magazine cover in Australia and I have been a fan of hers since then', she said.

The star is set to join Elle and actor Tyson Beckford in February 2013 when filming begins with the show being aired later in the summer. Elle is equally as excited to have Dannii join them, admitting: 'I am really enthusiastic about working with Dannii. I have watched her blossom into a powerhouse in fashion and television and believe she will bring a fresh energy to the show - plus she's gorgeous.'

Simon Cowell Sends S.O.S To Sharon Osbourne, Louis Walsh, And Dannii Minogue

Simon Cowell Louis Walsh Dannii Minogue Sharon Osbourne

Simon Cowell has issued an X Factor S.O.S to former judges Sharon Osbourne and Dannii Minogue, whilst persuading Louis Walsh to stay on for further seasons. Cowell has asked both female stars to return to the show, while he would make regular guest appearances.

According to The Sun, if either star refused to return, Cheryl Cole would be in line for another bash at the UK show. A show source said, "The first three series relied solely on genuine British talent and a chemistry between the judges that simply hasn't been there since Sharon left. By series three they had produced an international star with Leona Lewis and the show had real credibility." Though the latter point is debatable, The X Factor certainly appears to have descended into farce in recent years, with Gary Barlow feuding with Tulisa Contostavlos every week and Louis Walsh telling every act, "You remind me of a young Boyzone," as if a robot programmed with only one stock phrase. Last week's Halloween themed show was down 200,000 on the previous week's viewers and Cowell appears ready to take drastic measures. Cheryl's agent has denied she had been approached, while Sharon's spokesman said, "She is always open to good suggestions."

Perhaps most surprisingly, a potential revamp could also see long-standing host Dermot O'Leary replaced by The Voice presenter Holly Willoughby.

Simon Cowell And Demi Lovato Enjoy War Of Words On Conan O'Brien Show

Demi Lovato Simon Cowell Conan O'Brien Britney Spears Dannii Minogue

The Demi Lovato X factor was there for all to see as the feisty young star came out the better of a verbal ding dong with her boss Simon Cowell on Conan O'Brien's chat show. The Sun reports that the duo were there to promote the new series of X Factor, which has just kicked off out in the States, and Lovato brought exactly the same outspoken energy that she's been displaying so far on the program to the chat show couch.

Joking to O'Brien, Lovato quipped "We're trying to reach a younger demographic, and I don't feel we're going to accomplish that when he's showing more cleavage than Britney [Spears] and I are." Cowell, who has recently seen revelations come out in public that suggested he'd told UK X Factor bosses to re-hire Dannii Minogue "for her t*ts", suggested that Lovato and third judge Britney Spears could show more cleavage. However, he was fought down by the 20 year-old who also joked that normally Simon "could braid his chest hair".

Lovato also called Cowell an "a**hole" during the broadcast and, feeling picked on, the beleaguered music mogul turned to O'Brien and pleaded: "Tell her to stop picking on me, please." There was no one on his side in front of the cameras though, with the talk show host replying sarcastically: "Don't pick on him! He's a kind man who's NEVER insulted anyone!" Poor Simon.
