Daniel Radcliffe has put himself forward as a young Iggy Pop because he'd love to play the punk icon on the big screen.

A big fan of punk music, the Harry Potter star admits he'd relish portraying The Stooges mainman if the role was ever offered to him.

He tells U.S. radio host Eric J Lawrence, "We've got a similar, gnarly sort of, slightly strange skinny bodies."

Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins portrayed Iggy Pop in his movie debut, Cbgb, last year (13).

Radcliffe recently dismissed reports suggesting he was in talks to play the villain in the next James Bond film, but also urged filmmakers to keep him in mind if a film featuring DC Comics superhero Nightwing ever became a reality.
