Irish singer Daniel O'Donnell is relieved after learning his wife has beaten breast cancer just weeks after he announced her diagnosis.
The Crush On You hitmaker revealed Majella's cancer battle last month (Jul13) and urged fans to send their prayers instead of get well cards, but the singer has now told fans the disease has "gone" following surgery and treatment.
He tells local paper the Donegal Democrat, "Thank God with early intervention and surgery the cancer is gone now and it is a matter of further treatment. It can be beaten and I thank God that Majella is on the road to recovery."
Recalling her diagnosis, O'Donnell adds, "It is probably one of the most numbing experiences a man can go through - you just feel helpless. It's just so important to me that we will be together for a long, long time - the rest of our lives."
The couple wed in 2002.
