Irish singer Daniel O'Donnell has asked his fans to pray for his wife after learning she is battling breast cancer.
The easy listening superstar announced the news of his partner Majella's recent diagnosis on his website, and urged his followers not to send postcards and get well cards because he cannot deal with bags of mail.
He writes, "She is undergoing treatment at present and as it was found in the early stages we are very hopeful of a full recovery.
"I know that many of you would like to send your good wishes to Majella but at this time we cannot deal with a lot of mail so we would ask you not to send cards or letters, all we need are your prayers to help us through this difficult time and we know we can rely on that."
The Crush On You singer wed Majella, 53, in 2002 and she has often joined her husband onstage for duets.
O'Donnell is scheduled to hit the stage for a tour of Ireland and Britain next month (Aug13).
