Academy Award-winner Daniel Day-Lewis keeps his acting schedule minimal, because he believes being patient produces better performances. The GANGS OF NEW YORK star, who has acted in a steady stream of carefully chosen films since his career began in the early 1980s, prides himself on his meticulous preparations for a role. He tells London's Time Out magazine, "I like to cook things very slowly. "I learned early on that I couldn't jump from one kind of work to another. "I did it a couple of times and it didn't work. "At some point in your life, if you're lucky, you get to design the way in which things evolve."
