Actor Daniel Craig injured himself at the start of filming on the new James Bond movie as he warmed up for a mundane action scene.

The star reprises his role as the suave superspy in Skyfall, the 23rd 007 film, but the British hunk admits he sustained a silly injury as he prepared to shoot the simplest of scenes.

He tells Vanity Fair magazine, "I tore a muscle right at the beginning of this one, crazily, in a kind of warm-up for something, which is what happens.

"The weird thing is, where I hurt myself more is, like, when I have to run down some steps, across a room, sort of through a door. And I'll have to do it 30 times. And we'll be on the 29th take when I come down the steps and sort of twist (my leg)."

The torn muscle wasn't the only ailment Craig suffered on the job - he sparked speculation about a hand injury in June (12) when he was photographed sporting a bandage around his wrist, and he previously underwent a shoulder operation in 2008 after aggravating an old injury while filming action sequences for his second Bond outing, Quantum of Solace.
