Daniel Craig is set to appear as James Bond in Skyfall later this year (2012) and fans of the movie franchise can now get a glimpse of what to expect, with a shot of Craig playing the role of the infamous spy now released. Sky News have posted the photo online, showing Daniel Craig, as James Bond, clutching a pistol and looking onto the distance. According to Sky News, Bond "appears to be in pursuit of a target as he is picked out from the darkness by the glow of a neon sign in a scene set in Shanghai."
The release of Skyfall marks the 23rd Bond film and the first since 2008s Quantum of Solace. This is Daniel Craig's third time playing the iconic role and is this time directed by Sam Mendes. Dame Judi Dench returns, playing the role of M and Javier Bardem takes on the all-important role of the Bond Villain. Naomi Harris and Ralph Fiennes are also said to have roles in the film, as well as Albert Finney. Skyfall is reportedly being filmed in Whitehall, London, with Pinewood Studios also in use, as well as locations in Scotland and Istanbul. The making of the film was reportedly put on hold, when the film studio Mgm filed for bankruptcy in 2010 but the film's producers got the go-ahead last year.
Skyfall is set to be released in cinemas in October in the UK. A brief synopsis of the film's plot reveals that James Bond's loyalty to Judi Dench's character M is tested when "her past comes back to haunt her."
