Argentine conductor Daniel Barenboim has been released from hospital after suffering a "a disturbance of his sense of balance".

The 63-year-old was admitted to hospital in Berlin, Germany - where he is the general music director of Berlin's opera house - on Friday (27JAN06).

He was taken ill ahead of a special concert to celebrate WOLFGANG AMADEUS MOZART's 250th birthday.

But Baremboim was allowed home on Sunday after medics discovered no serious illness and is due to embark on a two week US tour tomorrow (01FEB06).
