Dancing With The Stars contestant Ralph Macchio and his partner Karina Smirnoff finished bottom of the leader-board on last night's show. Ralph Macchio struggled through the routine with a nasty injury, but received a standing ovation for his efforts, reports ABC News.
Last night's contestants were faced with the 'instant-dance', meaning all the couples were required to perform to a song they had picked at random from the 'mirror ball trophy', with just minutes to prepare. The format was too much for MACchio, who was suffering from a ruptured cyst behind his knee. After hobbling through the performance, the 'Karate Kid' star was praised by the judges for his efforts but still received the evening's lowest overall score. Bruno Tonioli remarked, "With the circumstances you did very well to cope with it, let alone doing it", while Carrie Ann Inaba said, "I really admire you for getting out there". The evening's highest score went to Disney star Chelsea Kane and her partner Mark Ballas, who received 55 points for their waltz and salsa. Bruno told them, "You've finally found the perfect dance for Chelsea to shine!".
One more Dancing With The Stars contestant will be eliminated on this evening's results show (10th May 2011), leaving just four dancers left in the competition. Ralph Macchio looks the favourite to exit the show, despite his efforts to dance through injury.
