Dances With Wolves star FLOYD RED CROW WESTERMAN has died from complications of leukaemia. He was 71. The Native American actor and folk singer was working right up to his death, teaming up with Dances With Wolves star Kevin Costner again in new movie Swing Vote this year (07). In Costner's acclaimed wilderness film, Westerman played Sioux leader Ten Bears. His musical career included albums like A Tribute To Johnny Cash, which was released in 2006, and collaborations with Willie Nelson and Bonnie Raitt, among others. As well as appearing in Dances With Wolves, Westerman also scored a film credit in The Doors, in which he played Jim Morrison's spirit guide. A keen environmental activist, Westerman also toured the world with Sting a decade ago, raising cash for rainforest preservation.
