Bad
As I've said before, I have one rule for reviewing a kids' movie: Does it offer anything for adults who may be watching? Stale jokes, a soundtrack of songs that sounds like a combination of Creed's greatest hits and a sack of sugar, and the vocal talents of Rob Reiner will make adults dread seeing Everyone's Hero. And even though I pay taxes and have a pension plan, I'm fairly certain kids won't have much fun either.

The animated feature focuses on Yankee Irving, a Depression-era kid who embarks on a trip from New York to Chicago to return Babe Ruth's lucky bat and to clear his dad's name. Following Yankee is a crooked pitcher (voiced with gleeful malice by William H. Macy) who wants the bat so his team can hold Babe hitless and win the World Series.

Reeve Children Carry On Fight

Superman Christopher Reeve DANA REEVE

Late Superman star Christopher Reeve's children have pledged to continue their father's search for a cure to paralysis.
The actor died in 2005, nine years after he was left paralysed by a horse-riding accident. Before his death he established the Christopher Reeve Paralysis Foundation to fund research for therapies and a cure.
His three children from two relationships, ALEXANDRA, 24, MATTHEW, 27 and WILL, 14, all serve on the foundation's board.
Alexandra - Reeve's daughter with former partner GAE EXTON - says, "Our dad's accident really did connect us to this community: four million people in the US who are suffering from paralysis. We understand how important it is not only to find a cure but also to improve quality of life."
Reeve's widow, Will's mother, DANA REEVE died from lung cancer earlier this year (06).

Crow Thanks Friends Pals For Helping Her Through Cancer Battle

Sheryl Crow DANA REEVE Jennifer Aniston Courteney Cox Lance Armstrong

Breast cancer survivor Sheryl Crow turned to celebrity pals and family when seven weeks of radiotherapy took its toll and left her at her lowest point during her cancer battle.
The singer/songwriter admits she was confined to her Los Angeles home as fatigue and pain set in during her treatment earlier this year (06).
But advice from the late DANA REEVE and visits from pals like Jennifer Aniston and Courteney Cox helped her get through her worst days.
Crow reveals her cancer blues were worsened as she also tried to cope with her much-publicised break-up from boyfriend Lance Armstrong.
She says, "I was forced to be in my house, I had my friends around, I was tired a lot and also I was going through, obviously, the trauma I was going through before I was diagnosed and so all of it culminated at the same time and really forced me to just work my way through all of it.
"I remember seeing Dana Reeve and somebody asking her how do you get through all this grief and she said, `The only way to get through grief is to grieve, and so that's just kinda what I did.' I just sat with it and worked my way through it."
And Crow credits her former FRIENDS pals for coming to her aid: "I had this incredible tribe of women just descend upon me and carry me through the whole experience on their backs and also my family took shifts coming out (to visit me)."

Christopher Reeve's Widow Passes Away And Leaves Son To Friends

Christopher Reeve DANA REEVE

The late widow for Christopher Reeve, Danna, pleaded on her deathbed that her son, Will, should be brought up by friends in New York State instead of family members. Dana passed away from lung cancer on 6th March, 2006; 17 months after her husband passed away himself. Dana's father, Dr. Charles Morisini, was said to fully support the decision.

Morisini, who lives in New Hampshire, agreed that the 13-year-old Will should not be disturbed from his current life in Bedford, New York, and would benefit from not being removed from his surroundings. The doctor explained his decision, saying that: "Will will be very well looked after. Dana picked friends to look after him, everybody was very happy with that. They have a boy who is a year older than Will, they are very close friends, and they also have a 17 year-old girl. He's now got a brother and sister and is able to go to the same school and carry on how he was - same neighbourhood, same friends."
