With a baby on the way, Damon Gameau has decided to experiment with just how bad the supposedly 'healthy' food of the world is for the general public. Having given up sugar entirely a few years ago, Gameau knew that it wasn't likely that his children would do the same thing. This led to the experiment - Gameau won't eat the known 'bad foods' like chocolate, ice cream or soft drinks, but goes for all the food considered to be healthy for people to eat. As his own weight begins to grow over the course of just three weeks, he knows that his child is going to be born into a dangerous world, where obesity is just another factor of life. But does it have to be?

The four characters of the expedition are identified by their function in the story. Leading the pursuit of the runaway native is the stiff-backed "Fanatic" (Gary Sweet), a complex, intelligent man full of racial hatred, self-righteous zeal and self-justifying cruelty. However deep his contempt for anyone not of his color or calling, he has the wisdom to employ the services of the "Tracker" (David Gulpilil), although without much trust from the man. His own recognition of subtle marks on the ground suggest the subtlety of his mind.

Thunderstruck is a quirky Aussie comedy (is there any other kind of Aussie comedy?) about a group of musicians who reconvene 12 years after their rawkin' band breaks up due to the death of one of the old band's members. They've made a pact that if one of them dies, the rest of the group will see that his body is buried alongside former AC/DC frontman Bon Scott. Road trip ensues, with all manner of silliness, zaniness, and craziness ensuing.
