Damian Lewis Simon Farnaby Mathew Baynton Helen McCrory

William Shakespeare has had a fairly difficult transition to the silver screen. Sure, his plays have been made into great film adaptations, but whenever the character is portrayed in movies, things seem to go a bit wrong. Thankfully, this new look at the life of the Great Bard is being made by the comedy troupe behind the BBC's television series 'Horrible Histories' and 'Yonderland'.

And now, after two celebrated television series, the cast have been unleashed in their first feature film from BBC Films. Filming in iconic UK locations around Yorkshire, the cast and crew shot in York Minster, Skipton Castle, Bolton Castle, Selby Abbey, as well as Shakespeare's Globe Theatre in London.

Damian Lewis Claire Foy Hilary Mantel

It may be nearly two years since BBC Two first announced that it would be adapting Hilary Mantel’s Man Booker Prize historical novel Wolf Hall, but details about the series are only just beginning to emerge. The series was announced in August 2012 and at the time director Peter Kosminsky, who was chosen to bring the book to life, said, “It is an intensely political piece. It is about the politics of despotism, and how you function around an absolute ruler…When I saw Peter Straughan’s script, only a first draft, I couldn’t believe what I was reading. It was the best draft I had ever seen.”

Breaking Baby Names: AMC Meth Drama Influences Parents' Naming Decisions

Bryan Cranston Anna Gunn Aaron Paul Damian Lewis Claire Danes

Forget the philosophers, inventors, revolutionaries, innovators and visionaries from history, fictionalised drug dealers and their wives are the prime influences for the next generation and what we should call them. Breaking Bad’s reach seems to have stretched further than we thought.

Breaking Bad Walt and JesseJesse's been pretty popular; Walter not so much, wonder why?

The Walts, Jesses and Skylers have all risen up the baby names chart with the culmination of the hit drama back in September. And what’s more, the three names enjoyed increased popularity despite the Royal wedding and baby, with parents not wanting to be labelled ‘Kate copycats’, apparently.

Homeland Season 3 Episode 6: Still Positive

Claire Danes Mandy Patinkin Rupert Friend Damian Lewis Morena Baccarin

It's taken six episodes but finally Homeland is back on its feet and back to its old ways, sending blistering plot twists, confusing u-turns and stunning revelations our way. Last night's episode in the UK, 'Still Positive,' saw Saul at an all-time low, Javadi's true ways exposed and Carrie turn the tables on her abduction.

Carrie's Role As Double Agent Has Worked Well So Far.

The acting director of the CIA was still reeling after last episode's revelation that the gung-ho Senator Lockhart was in line for the permanent CIA role despite weeks of praise for keeping the organisation steady after the Langley bombing. He also resigned himself to accepting that his wife was still seeing the lover that she met in India. Another man may have stormed out or shouted; Saul had bigger fish to fry as Majid "The Magician" Javadi had captured undercover agent Carrie.

Until last week's final five minutes of CIA drama Homeland, fans of the show were beginning to wonder if the rest of season three would be as improbable and sedate as its beginning episodes. Just for you UK viewers, here's the recap of The Yoga Play.

'Romeo And Juliet' Released: Worth The Reboot?

Douglas Booth Hailee Steinfeld Julian Fellowes Damian Lewis

The news that there was a planned new Romeo and Juliet movie was initially akin to learning that there was a new Dracula in the works, sparking cries of "Another one?", "Again?" Rightly so; Baz Luhrmann's 1996 memorable adaptation of William Shakespeare's 16th century tragedy certainly set the precedent for sexing up the Bard to bring the iambic pentameter to a generation of short attention spans.

Watch The 'Romeo And Juliet' Trailer:

This time, the story is set in Verona, rather than LA, and Juliet Capulet is played by the Oscar-nominated Hailee Steinfeld alongside Douglas Booth as Romeo Montague and Ed Westwick as Tybalt. Damian Lewis and Natascha McElhone play Lord and Lady Capulet. A solid cast indeed, but could the staging stand up?

New Trailer Revealed For 'Romeo And Juliet', Starring Douglas Booth (Trailer & Pictures)

Douglas Booth as Romeo and Hailee Steinfeld as Juliet in Romeo And JulietDouglas Both as Romeo and Hailee Steinfeld as Juliet in Romeo And Juliet

It’s been a while since anyone’s attempted to pull off a film adaptation of Shakespeare’s classic doomed love story Romeo & Juliet. We suspect it’s because Baz Luhrmann did such a bang up job of it back in the 90’s that many have been simply too terrified to try and better it. However, with Douglas Booth and Paul Giamatti among the stars, director Carlo Carlei is probably confident that his 2013 version of the ancient play has the chops to do the original script justice especially with the Oscar winning 'Downton Abbey' creator Julian Fellowes adapting the screenplay.

Featuring the welcome voice of Zola Jesus on the backing soundtrack, the extended trailer for Carlei’s work has been revealed and apart from revealing that almost all the young actors in it are impossibly pretty, it also has a touch of a gothic feel about it, with dark shades adorning most of the clips shown and the infamous masked ball focused on as the first place the pair meet. 'Gossip Girl' star Ed Westwick also makes an appearance in the movie as the vengeful cousin of Juliet, Tybalt in his first role since leaving the show.

They meet and fall immediately in love when Romeo sneaks into the Capulet family ball and they soon vow to be married. Unfortunately, their happy matrimony does not last long when Romeo is forced to kill a relative of hers who challenges him and he is subsequently banished from Verona. Juliet, meanwhile, is being forced to marry another man against her wishes. Blinded by her misery, she accepts the help of Friar Laurence who offers to help her fake her own death so that she and Romeo may elope. However, after a cruel twist of fate, Romeo fails to receive word of the plan and discovers his wife apparently dead in her tomb. The grief that ensues becomes the deadly fate for this star-crossed couple.

Homeland's Damian Lewis Awarded The Freedom Of The City Of London

Damian Lewis

Homeland star Damian Lewis has been awarded the Freedom of the City of London in recognition of his acting achievements.

Now an Emmy or a Golden Globe is certainly a big deal, but the Freedom of the City is nothing to scoff at either, and Lewis certainly accepted it accordingly. The actor was glowing with happiness when he accepted the plaque at the Guildhall at the heart of the British capital (a city within a city in a country within a country, there’s a fun fact for you). He attended the ceremony, accompanied by his wife, actress Helen McCoy and his brother Gareth Lewis.

Before the ceremony, Lewis expressed his gratitude in a speech, explaining how happy he was to be honoured by the city, where he was born and raised and later attended the prestigious Guildhall School of Music and Drama. Lewis expressed his gratitude.

Homeland's Finale: Potential Risks And Rewards

Damian Lewis Claire Danes Mandy Patinkin

As the second season of Homeland is about to draw to a close, the suspense has gripped a nation of avid fans. And, while everyone is on tenterhooks for the the outcome of the season, some are questioning whether it has retained the kind of calibre and complexity that made the first season such an enormous critical and commercial success.

Starting with success that doesn't so much grow as explode, means that subsequent seasons need to keep to that kind of standard. The Guardian certainly things that season two leaves much to be desired saying that the "once-intelligent show has undergone a strange transformation: morphing, Hulk-style, into a more brash, straightforward action thriller that just happens to have some politics involved." Adding that "After 10 episodes, Homeland has lost all sense of reality."

But, as WBIR argues, "Homeland risks much each week, and part of what it's risking Sunday is disappointment, from those who don't feel they're getting all the answers they want and those who don't like the answers they get." Indeed, that kind of suspense, those risks that it takes every week are precisely what has made it such a success, the nail biting, heart racing suspense that pervades every Sunday night that it airs is a prime reason, along with fantastic performances, writing and directing for its success and subsequent rewards.
