Dakota Johnson is to star in 'Forever, Interrupted'.
The 24-year-old actress has been offered the leading role in the upcoming film adaptation of the Taylor Jenkins Reid novel 'Forever, Interrupted: A Novel', Variety reports.
The film will tell the story of a young woman (Johnson) who elopes after a whirlwind romance but when her adoring husband dies a sudden death she will be forced to come to terms with his loss and forms an unlikely relationship with his mother.
Amy Baer will produce the romantic drama through Gidden Media while Johnson will also take on the role of executive producer alongside Nathan Kahane and Joe Drake of Good Universe, John Middleton and Roy Lee.
She said of the novel: ''[It's] exquisitely written and heart-wrenchingly honest ... and Dakota will be exquisite as Elsie, who has to deal with the sudden loss of a great love. She is a deeply thoughtful, sensitive and smart woman and actress.''
Johnson recently wrapped on the untitled Whitey Bulger biopic, formerly titled 'Black Mass', opposite Johnny Depp and will next be seen in 'Fifty Shades of Grey'.
