Daft Punk's record label bosses appear to have confirmed reports suggesting the dance stars will be a surprise headliner at the upcoming Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in California after listing the event on the band's official Vevo.com page.

The Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger hitmakers were not among the acts named when the official line-up was announced in late January (13), but it now appears that the French duo will be joining headliners Blur, The Stone Roses, Phoenix and the Red Hot Chili Peppers - thanks to a post on video-sharing website Vevo, which was launched by executives at Universal Music Group, Emi and Sony Music Entertainment - the parent company of Daft Punk's label Columbia Records.

The masked stars are listed as playing Empire Polo Field in Indio, California - the same venue as Coachella - on 12 April (13), the first date of the three-day festival's first of two successive weekends.

The tour date was posted earlier this week (begs25Mar13) and remains online as Wenn goes to press.
