Electro stars Daft Punk infuriated U.S. Tv host Stephen Colbert by axing a planned performance on his live show just hours before they were due on stage.
The Get Lucky hitmakers reportedly cancelled the rare Tv appearance on Tuesday night's (06Aug13) installment of The Colbert Report due to contractual obligations relating to an upcoming performance at the MTv Video Music Awards in New York City on 25 August (13).
Robin Thicke stepped in to replace Daft Punk by performing his hit Blurred Lines, and Colbert addressed the drama during the show, telling the audience, "We booked Click and Clack (Daft Punk) over here about a month ago. Apparently, Daft Punk are going to make a surprise appearance on the MTv Video Music Awards. Don't tell anyone, because fun fact: No one told me until two hours ago."
Colbert also played a video showing him and his guests, including actors Jeff Bridges, Hugh Laurie, Bryan Cranston and Matt Damon, dancing to the group's hit Get Lucky in lieu of the performance.
