Scandal? That's probably how some people will react to a Korean version of Dangerous Liaisons set in the 1700s (otherwise the same period as the original source material, just halfway around the world). The story's quite faithful to the original book, only filtered through the eyes of eastern culture. It's a little hard to see these very proper Korean ladies and gentlemen as backstabbing creatures of passion -- you don't get that sense of innate malice that you do in a British or Americanized version -- but that ultimately makes the machinations all the more powerful. Very intriguing.
