Cyndi Lauper is urging her fans to adopt abandoned animals, insisting it's "the responsible choice" to support shelters.
The Time After Time hitmaker has signed up as a spokesperson for the North Shore Animal League America organisation's Tour For Life campaign, which aims to promote pet adoption.
Three mobile rescue and adoption units will tour the U.S. throughout March and April (12) in a bid to raise awareness of the cause - and Lauper is in full support of the scheme.
She says, "I am excited to join Tour For Life and encourage animal lovers to welcome shelter pets, also known as Mutt-i-grees, into their homes.
"There are so many beautiful and healthy animals in shelters, making the responsible choice an easy one - animal lovers can show their true colours by adopting a pet and saving a life."
