Earlier this year, the enigmatic duo known as Cults released one of the albums of the year in the form of their self-titled debut - 11 glorious pop songs whose infectious, sparkling surfaces belied a heart of darkness, full of barely contained subversion and dysfunction; Brill Building tracks with a chemical imbalance, 60's inflected anthems with poison running through their veins. It garnered plaudits on both sides of the pond, with everyone from NME, Guardian and Vogue to New York Times and Pitchfork declaring themselves fans, as the band went on to sell out headline shows and play coveted spots at every worthwhile summer festival around.
Now, the duo of Madeline Follin and Brian Oblivion are finally returning to the UK to play a couple of long awaited live dates, following a brief regional jaunt back in August. Starting with a show in London at XOYO, the band will then travel to Bristol, Nottingham and Manchester, before also playing at ATP's Nightmare Before Christmas curated by Battles, Les Savy Fav and Caribou, alongside the likes of Surfer Blood, Marnie Stern, No Age, Gary Numan and many more. Make sure not to miss this rare chance to catch Cults live on UK soil.
