Cornish 4-piece Crowns are soon to release their brilliant new single 'Parting in the Porch' due out on October 29th 2012 from their debut album 'Stitches In The Flag' scheduled for release on November 5th 2012 through Ship Wreckords/ PIAS.
The accompanying video is simple but lovably down to earth and carefree. It features black and white footage of each separate band member rocking out to this catchy tune while trying on different hats and general messing about and showing all their fans how normal and fun they are and certainly making us want to see them live. The track has a strong folk backing tune and the rhythmic, repetitive vocals add to that traditional feel. The grittiness and volume of the vocal, however, is definitely punk influenced, giving this one-of-a-kind group a touch of charisma that makes them truly stand out on the music scene.
Vocalist Bill Jefferson reveals that the track is about the innocence of youth and how it never truly leaves you. 'It's a nostalgic letter to my younger self, remembering parties on the beach, chasing the girls', he says. 'Stitches in the Flag' follows on from their previously released self-titled EP and features one song, 'Full Swing', that they have released in the past. They are soon to showcase their album at two shortly upcoming live shows in London and Falmouth.
