Rocker Courtney Love is countersuing credit card firm American Express after company bosses took legal action against her for allegedly failing to settle a bill worth more than $350,000 (£218,750).
AmEx chiefs filed suit against the singer last May (09) in a bid to reclaim the money, accusing the singer of running up the huge debt on her Gold card and refusing to pay it off.
Love's lawyer quickly dismissed the allegation, insisting his client has been battling the charges for months because she didn't spend the money.
She subsequently hired a private detective to track down the fraudsters she holds responsible for the debt and now Love has filed her own lawsuit against AmEx for bad business practice.
The star claims AmEx executives issued a "massive" number of credit cards in her name without her knowledge or consent and that she should have nothing on her balance.
Love is suing for unspecified damages plus interest, according to TMZ.com.
