An arrest warrant put out for troubled rocker Courtney Love has been dismissed - after the former Hole frontwoman finally appeared for her court hearing yesterday (17FEB04).

LOS ANGELES SUPERIOR COURT Judge ELDEN FOX issued the warrant last week (ends13FEB04), after Love failed to appear for a hearing involving felony charges of illegal possession of two painkillers. Her attorney WILLIAM GENEGO said the MONO singer couldn't make it then because of unspecified "security" reasons.

Superior Court judge LISA HART COLE dismissed the warrant and ordered the former HOLE frontwoman, 39, back to court on 16 March (04) for a preliminary hearing.

The widow of Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain has pleaded innocent to illegal possession of hydrocodone and oxycodone. Authorities says they discovered the painkillers when Love was taken to a hospital on 2 October (04) after being found outside an ex-boyfriend's house where she allegedly smashed windows.

She was charged separately with a misdemeanour count of being under the influence of a drug.
