Frank is a hot dog Wiener who's packed into a vacuum seal bag with all his closest buds, Brenda is a hot dog bun who is also bagged up with the other ladies in the Glamour Buns pack. Since being stored on the supermarket shelf, Frank and Brenda have known that they're meant to be, now all that has to happen is their new owner picks both packets to take them home for their happily ever after.
As luck would have it, a lady picks them both up and it seems like their dream is coming true, little do the food items actually know what happens to them when they get to their new home; they're pealed, boiled, grated and roasted to death before being eaten. Now Frank is on a mission to bring the truth to the other consumables in a bit to make the horror stop.
Sausage Party is an R rated CG animation.
After escaping to Africa from Madagascar, Alex the lion; Gloria the hippo; Melman the giraffe and Marty the zebra decide it's time to head back to New York once and for all. Unfortunately, they have to rely on the penguins - Skipper; Kowalski; Rico and Private - and the two chimpanzees, Mason and Phil and their combined mechanical knowledge, to get them back home. Nothing can go wrong this time, though, can it?
While planning for her wedding to local newsman Derek Dietl (voice of Paul Rudd), Susan Murphy (Reese Witherspoon) is hit by an enormous meteorite containing a mysterious alien element. It instantly causes her to grow in size to gigantic proportions. Naturally, this leads the government, under the director of General W. R. Monger (Kiefer Sutherland) to capture the gal and take her back to his top secret compound. There, he keeps other so-called "monsters" -- mad scientist turned bug Dr. Cockroach (Hugh Laurie), an aquatic fish man known as the Missing Link (Will Arnett), a blob like biological accident named B.O.B. (Seth Rogen), and Insectosaurus, a building-sized pest with an ear-shattering scream. As America's first line of defense against trouble, the team is put to the test when extraterrestrial tyrant Gallaxhar (Rainn Wilson) arrives, ready to take over Earth.

Two-thirds of the way through the original "Shrek," the quite creatively warped, CGI-animated fairytale fell victim to an inane plot crutch when its grumpy but lovestruck, big-green-ogre anti-hero overheard part of a conversation -- lovely Princess Fiona describing herself as ugly after transforming into an ogre too -- and thought she was talking about him.
This stupid misunderstanding between romantics (and the fact that it never occurs to thick-witted Fiona that Shrek might like her more as an ogre) didn't ruin the movie, but the fact that it drives the rest of the story was an insult to all the hilariously astute, genre-mocking that had come before it.
Unfortunately, "Shrek 2" -- in which the newlywed ogres visit Fiona's disapproving (and human) royal Mum and Dad -- is predicated entirely on just such "Three's Company"-quality contrivances, requiring all the characters to behave like jackasses in order for the plot to advance.
