Comcast, which owns NBC, is the No. 1 cable operator in the world with almost 22 million subscribers, according to a new survey by Monterey, CA-based SNL Kagan. Nevertheless, that figure is down by about 2 million from its peak in 2008, and Chinese rivals appear to be on the verge of surpassing it. China's Jiangsu Broadcasting Cable Information Network now boasts about 21 million subscribers. Comcast also remains the No. 1 Intercom provider in the U.S. with about 19.4 million subscribers, well ahead of AT&T with 16.4 million and Time Warner Cable with 11.4 million.
