Kerry Washington is ''already a mother''.

The 36-year-old actress and her husband Nnamdi Asomugha are expecting their first child together and her 'Scandal' co-stars think she will be a great mom as she is already so maternal.

Referring to Kerry's 'Scandal' character, crisis manager Olivia Pope, her co-star Darby Stanchfield told E! News: ''She is going to be the most amazing mother.

''She's already a mom. She already mothers all of us. She's very Olivia Pope to us, making sure we're all taken care of and happy.

''She's really glowing. She's really happy. She's genuinely so looking forward to this moment, so it's fun to share in it with her.''

And 'Scandal' actor Columbus Short joked Kerry and Nnamdi plan to name their baby after him.

He said: ''She's naming her baby Columbus, whether it's a boy or a girl. She was just like, 'Columbus, that name is sweet!' ''

Kerry recently admitted she feels ''really blessed'' to be pregnant, though she doesn't like talking about her family life.

She said: ''You know, it's sort of like the rest of my private life, I'm not talking about it that much, but I feel really really blessed it just feels like a really good time.''
