It’s been a strange few years for Columbus Short; his personal problems have coincided with key role in a hit political drama alongside Kerry Washington, which has seen his popularity and fame rise at a remarkable rate. His time on ‘Scandal’, though, has come to an end, according to a statement released by the actor yesterday (Friday, April 25.)

"At this time I must confirm my exit from a show I've called home for three years, with what is the most talented ensemble in television today. I would like to first thank ['Scandal' creator] Shonda Rhimes for the opportunity to work with such an amazing cast. Thank you GLADIATORS, who have supported me throughout my entire career and of course to ABC and Shondaland for allowing me to play such a pivotal role in the 'Scandal' series,” read the statement.

Scandal: Columbus Short Needs Crisis Management After Punch Allegation

Columbus Short Kerry Washington

Columbus Keith Short plays one of Olivia Pope’s (Kerry Washington) crisis management team in the hit TV drama, Scandal. So how appropriate, then, is that he’s accused of striking someone on the nose and knocking them out at an L.A restaurant. Sometimes the headlines write themselves.

Columbus Short Involved In 'Scandal' (Again) Following Restaurant Fight Arrest

Columbus Short Tanee McCall

Columbus Short, the actor best known for his role on Scandal as Harrison Wright, was arrested on Wednesday (26th March) after allegedly being involved in physical altercation earlier this month.

Columbus Short regularly appears on ABC's Scandal.

It seems a warrant was issued calling for the arrest of 31-year-old Short following an incident at Gabe's Bar and Grill, a West Hollywood restaurant, on March 15th. TMZ first reported the incident and claim Short hit a man after comments were made about Short's finances and his wife. It seems Short, and the man involved in the dispute, were both guests at a mutual friend's engagement party so they may well not be invited to the wedding.

Death At A Funeral Review

OK
If you've seen Frank Oz's 2007 British comedy, it feels rather pointless to watch this almost word-for-word remake. Sure, the setting is different, but the uneven mixture of slapstick and sentiment are still here, so newcomers might find it diverting.

Aspiring author Aaron (Rock) is preparing his father's funeral amid all kinds of distractions. His novelist brother Ryan (Lawrence) jets in from New York, but won't help at all. His wife Michelle (Hall) is pushing him to move out from their mother's (Devine) house. The boyfriend (Marsden) of his cousin (Saldana) has just accidentally been given a hallucinogen. Uncle Russell (Glover) is on the rampage. And a small man (Dinklage) has something shocking to announce.

Through all of this, Aaron's hypochondriac best friend Norman (Morgan) tries to maintain some semblance of order. But he's useless.

The Losers Review

OK
Raucous and colourful, this comical action flick should be great fun, but a lack of plot or character development keep it from coming together. And it's not actually that funny or exciting.

On a mission in Bolivia, a five-man black-ops team is betrayed by their power-mad CIA boss Max (Patric) and left for dead. But they embark on a mission to get revenge and clear their names, with Clay (Morgan) leading techie Jensen (Evans), demolition expert Roque (Elba), driver-pilot Pooch (Short) and sniper Cougar (Jaenada). They also enlist the help of a sexy-but-shady woman (Saldana) as they track Max and his vile henchman (McCallany) from Miami to Los Angeles and try to stop his nefarious Bond-like plan.

Save The Last Dance 2 Review

OK
Turns out it wasn't quite the last dance last time. Izabella Miko (one of the ladies from Coyote Ugly) steps into Julia Stiles' size 0 leotard for this sequel, which has Sara now attending Julliard to become a ballerina... while of course still indulging her passion for hip-hop dancing. She's broken up with Derek (Sean Patrick Thomas in the original) and is now courting a stand-in professor at Julliard (Columbus Short).

All the facets of similar films (from Fame to Center Stage) are here: An evil headmistress (Jacqueline Bisset), a horny roommate (Aubrey Dollar), and endless discussion of how hard it is to be a dancer for a living (no argument there). But the film retreads the original Dance pretty much completely, right down to Sara's interracial romance and her struggle for acceptance in the urban, hip-hop scene. While Miko is a fine (if quirky) actress, she doesn't have the natural, girl-next-door charm of Stiles, though ironically the angular, Polish beauty does make for a more credible ballerina.
