Colin Firth is looking forward to a high-profile dinner date this week (beg23May11) with an invitation to Buckingham Palace for a party with Queen Elizabeth II and U.S. President Barack Obama.
The British actor and his wife Livia have been invited to a dinner at the monarch's London residence on Wednesday (25May11) to celebrate the American leader's first state visit to the U.K.
The occasion will mark the first time Firth has met the queen since winning an Oscar for his role as her father, George VI, in The King's Speech - and he is looking forward to hearing her opinion of the film.
He says, "I'd love to say it will just be the four of us but I suspect there will be other people there too. Apparently she (Queen Elizabeth) did watch it (The King's Speech) so it will be interesting to hear what she thought of it."
