Coldplay star Jonny Buckland has shown off his generous side by donating a gold disc to raise cash for a village hall in Wales.
The guitarist has handed over the gold record, which he received after the band sold 100,000 copies of their latest album Mylo Xyloto in Germany.
It is hoped the plaque will help pay for a new roof for the local community centre in Pantymwyn, North Wales, where he lived from the age of four.
Village hall committee chair Chris Johnson says, "This is an incredibly generous donation from a very special son of Pantymwyn.
"We cannot thank Jonny and his family enough for their fantastic support and we hope the disc will do very well at auction."
The disc will go under the hammer in London in July (12).
