Coldplay are to perform at the Paralympics closing ceremony.
The 'Paradise' hitmakers feel ''honoured'' to have been invited to take part in the Festival of Flame
at London's Olympic Stadium on September 9.
Frontman Chris Martin said: ''Being asked to play at the closing celebrations for the Paralympic athletes in London is such a great honour for us. Kim Gavin and Misty Buckley are working hard to put on a spectacular Paralympic Games Closing Ceremony for the athletes and spectators in the stadium, and everyone watching around the world, and we are so happy to be involved.''
Meanwhile, Chris has admitted the group's next single 'Princess of China' - which features Rihanna on guest vocals - came from them ''messing around'' in the studio and they never intended to keep the track for themselves when it was first written.
He said: ''I think the guest thing is something we will keep quite special. We were doing Neil Young's Bridge School benefit and went into the studio the day before to mess around and this song came out and our immediate thought was to give it to Rihanna.''
However, the band members liked the song so decided to approach the 'S&M' hitmaker about a duet.
Chris added: ''If a song says it belongs to someone, I don't think you have a choice.''
