A post on the band’s Spotify artist page simply reads that A Head Full of Dreams “will be available from Friday 11th December. Come back then to listen.” Some had also worried that Coldplay may decide to follow artists such as Taylor Swift and Adele and withhold the album from Spotify altogether.

According to the Official Charts Company, A Head Full of Dreams is currently ahead of Adele’s 25 in the midweek UK albums chart by just 2,000 units. It is so far said to have sold just under 160,000 copies in the UK, enough to make it already certified gold.

On Monday evening the band appeared on James Corden’s ‘Late Late Show’ to perform two tracks from the album, ‘A Head Full Of Dreams’ and ‘Adventure of a Lifetime’. The boys also sat down with Corden to explain the frankly unbelievable way they ended up getting Beyoncé to appear on the record.
