NICOLE KIDMAN'S award-winning streak is set to continue this year (04) with her latest film Cold Mountain expected to garner 18 BAFTA nominations.

The Australian actress, 36, is hot favourite for Best Actress for her role in the epic drama about the US civil war. Since her divorce from Tom Cruise in 2001, Kidman has seen her film career soar, with an OSCAR-winning turn in THE HOURS and box-office successes with Moulin Rouge and The Others.

Kidman's co-star Jude Law is set to be nominated for Best Actor, while Renee Zellweger and Natalie Portman are tipped to be nominated in the Best Supporting Actress category. Brendan Gleeson and Philip Seymour Hoffman could battle it out for Best Supporting Actor.

The shortlist for the prestigious awards will be announced later this month (19JAN04).
